'Imagination Deprivation' is the sophomore release of Sixty Ton Angel, a solo project belonging to NYC-based artist Matthew Anderson (aka Sparrow). A talented & thoughtful producer of songcraft, Matthew is one of the most versatile musicians I know. These ambient recordings provide a window into the soul of a true experimenter, the systematically named "Voice 013" introducing flutters of a source sound that is not immediately obvious. As the listener's discernment comes into focus, a layer of voice can faintly be heard in the background, supporting the chorus-like haze that drives the music. Perhaps it's something else, though. Whatever it is, it's out of this world.
